Public Procurement: Medicines procured under six government programs are delivered to the regions

The duties & responsibilities of primary care physicians are as follows:

1. to directly provide regular primary care to patients;

2. to develop and control the plan of regular health check-ups and compliance with treatment modes, interpret basic medical test results, prescribe medicines and offer treatment interventions;

3. to provide urgent care to patients who require immediate treatment;

4. to make referrals to specialists (secondary or tertiary) as the patient's condition indicates;

5. to coordinate the participation of specialists and other care units in the patient's treatment;

6. to manage patients with dangerous communicable diseases in accordance with the law;

7. to provide preventive care in accordance with the law;

8. to consult and give advice on a healthy lifestyle;

9. to implement measures to ensure individual and population-wide protection against infectious diseases by immunization;

10. to assess patients’ risks of developing certain diseases and counsel on disease prevention; to develop individual screening and health monitoring programs for patients;

11. to inform patients about current national screening programs and perform other functions in accordance with the law;

12. to monitor health and provide care for women with an uncomplicated pregnancy;

13. to provide regular maternal and newborn care;

14. to provide care for patients with mental disorders, in full compliance with specialist’s recommendations;

15. to provide palliative care, including:

systematic pain assessment;
prescription of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors;
pain syndrome treatment;
issuance of prescriptions for narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors in accordance with the law;

16. to coordinate and manage laboratory tests and the collection of biological material;

17. to conduct laboratory tests, including quick screening tests;

18. to prescribe the medicines registered in accordance with the law;

19. to prepare medical records and documentation for referring patients with a permanent disability to medical and social care experts assessment and rehabilitation;

20. to issue medical certificates, forms, sick notes, statements of good health, disability certificates, etc.

Medicines procured for the state budget funds are currently delivered to the regions. These medicines will be available in health facilities in the nearest future.
